Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is Group Forgiveness Coaching?
Group Forgiveness Coaching is a program designed to educate and help clients practice Forgiveness as a lifestyle. This program helps identify emotions and triggers that cause those emotions. The sessions help members learn how to utilize Recognize, Forgive, and Reframe (RFR) in their daily lives to diffuse their feelings and respond to life more healthily. It is collaborative.
2. What is BAA?
BAA stands for Breathe, Ask, and Accept. This three-step process brings us to acceptance of the reality that we are not so powerful that we can create a mess so big that God can’t clean it up and make something beautiful of it.
3. How does BAA work?
BAA’s three-step process:
B: Breathe. Breathe in God’s love. Breathe out the pain and hurt. Breathe in God’s Holy Spirit and His forgiveness. Breathe out the anger and grief.
Breathe in gratitude for this moment where you’ve recognized your need to forgive and your need for forgiveness. Breathe out any resentment you carried for the things that happened to you.
Breathe in trust that God will work all things for your good and His glory. Breathe out the worry or anxiety for the future that you have been allowing to color your decisions.
Breathe in God’s promise that He has plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you hope and a future. Breathe out the lies you’ve believed that nothing good could ever come of what happened to you. It already is.
Breathe in God’s promise that He will always be there for you and will never abandon you or leave you orphaned. Breathe out the fear of abandonment and of being rejected.
Keep breathing in God’s life, God’s love, and God’s Holy Spirit as you transition to the next phase.
A: Ask. Ask for the Holy Spirit’s guidance in showing you what you need to forgive others for doing and what you need to ask His forgiveness for having done. When this phase is done, you’re ready for the next phase.
A: Accept. This is often the most difficult phase of the forgiveness journey, but when you reach this stage, it’s time to accept forgiveness.
It’s a process of accepting that we are not so powerful that we can create a mess so big that God can’t clean it up and make something beautiful of it. It’s a process of humbling ourselves, accepting our weaknesses, and using those weaknesses to reach people in ways we never could have without them. Forgiveness allows us to address and let go of the feelings, patterns, and beliefs showing up at the moment.
4. How often do I need to BAA?
BAA is not a single bleat from a lost sheep, but an ongoing series of BAA, BAA, BAA’s, crying out to the Father for help in forgiving and letting go.
5. What is lifestyle coaching?
Recognize – the coach teaches the members to recognize challenging situations and negative relationships in their lives. Admitting when we react with our emotions in an unhealthy way is the first step in bringing about change.
Reframe: the last step in the process is reframing. The client will learn to go forward in each situation using learned emotions, patterns, and beliefs.
6. What is the format for this program?
The coach conducts training via Zoom. Each call will feature a specific forgiveness trigger (ex: stress, depression, anger, etc.). These sessions will center around how different situations show up and how the body may react to them. Then Norma will coach all participants through BAA to equip them in handling similar cases concerning the emotion/topic in their day-to-day lives.
7. How often do group calls take place?
Group Zoom calls take place once a month, but replays of the Zoom calls remain available for the duration of the membership. Additional support is available in our group’s social learning environment.
8. Will I have to discuss my personal life in front of the group?
Group coaching does not delve into the individual experiences or history of anyone in the group unless members voluntarily share it. The program encourages members to collaborate during the BAA process by supplying different examples about that month’s topic.
